Opportunities to Glorify God in the Community

Opportunities to Glorify God in the Community

Dear friends,

This is the second post in a new series, Opportunities to Glorify God as Covenant Church. Today we're examining Opportunities to Glorify God in the Community.

Covenant Church is a praying church.

Covenant Church is a worshiping church.

Covenant Church loves our neighbors.

Invite One Another, Encourage One Another

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” (1 John 4:11, ESV)

Covenant Church has a unique opportunity to create together by God's grace what many in this city lack — true community. In this place of sunshine, there's often a figurative darkness that separates people from one another.

At Covenant Church, we all have something in common. We've all heard of the good news of God's love for us in the Lord Jesus. This fact means that we all are connected in this knowledge of the Lord.

I urge you then to think of one another.

If you're going to grab some In-N-Out, invite someone from the church to meet you there. If you're going to the Dodgers game, see if someone from the church wants to go too. These friendships are one of the joys and privileges of being a part of a church. And we can celebrate one another and encourage one another as the Lord works in and through our lives. At Covenant Church, we plan to offer frequent opportunities to connect with and have fellowship with one another.

Service Ministry

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37b–39, ESV)

It's a great joy to have opportunity to demonstrate love to our neighbors. We love greatly because we've experienced great love from the Lord. Covenant Church plans to offer at least one opportunity monthly to serve the community in love.

The service ministry of Covenant Church is a tremendous time to invite friends and neighbors to connect with the church.

As always, I'm available to talk with you about these things. I'm very encouraged by all of you!
