Hurricane Helene Relief
“So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea.” (Acts 11:29, ESV)
Dear friends,
Our denomination, the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, has many churches and members in the Southeast affected by the recent rain and wind of Hurricane Helene.
There are two equally important ways to give money to help with relief and recovery.
First, you may have seen photos and videos from Asheville, where City Church of Asheville (ARP) meets — and they have set up a hurricane relief fund, available for contribution at the link below.
Second, our denomination also has a hurricane relief fund, per the note below from ARP news.
"Hurricane Helene has devasted the Southeast. You can follow ARPnews.org for updates from our ARP Churches in the area. Please be in prayer for Pinecrest Presbyterian Church in Flat Rock, NC, Reformation Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, NC, and City Church of Asheville, NC, as they minister to their church members and community. Bonclarken Conference Center was hit hard as well.
The Good Samaritan Fund has been set up with an online giving link for Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief. You may click the link below to give online or mail a check to the ARP Center, 918 S. Pleasantburg Dr., Ste. 127, Greenville, SC, 29607. Be sure to include Hurricane Helene in the memo. Let me know if you have any questions, [email protected]. 100% of these funds will be disbursed to those that need it by the Steering Committee of the Good Samaritan fund. (MOS 2012, page 506)
We will update you through www.ARPnews.org as we receive more reports."
The Good Samaritan Fund is available here for contribution: https://secure.accessacs.com/access/oglogin.aspx?sn=96075&f=10432
Both of these funds from City Church of Asheville and the ARPC are worthy of your consideration and we seek to love and support our brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Please pray for their relief and encouragement in the Lord.
