A Sunday to Look Forward To...
“On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the next day, and he prolonged his speech until midnight.” (Acts 20:7, ESV)
Dear friends,
We know that every Lord's Day is one to look forward to... But there is even more this coming Sunday.
First, in the morning at our 10 AM worship we'll consider Jesus entering Jerusalem triumphantly at the start of the Passion Week. It's Palm Sunday this Sunday and it's shaping up to be a wonderful time together in worship.
Then, in the evening at our 6 PM worship, Rev. Timothy Lien from The Way church is planning to preach from Revelation 21. Every time I've heard Tim preach I've gone away rejoicing in the Lord.
Tim grew up in Southern California before leaving the state to attend college. He’s been married to Melissa for 25 years and they have four children—Laurian (21), Anderson (19), Lainey (16), and Jameson (11). He attended Covenant Seminary in Saint Louis, MO and graduated with a Masters of Divinity. Ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (P.C.A.), Tim has served in Saint Louis and Tuscaloosa, Alabama before planting The Way in South Pasadena, CA in 2016. In 2016 The Way also partnered with Pacific Crossroads Church (Santa Monica) to plant King’s Cross Church in Manhattan Beach. In 2019 The Way planted Bridges Community Church in Alhambra with a core group from The Way, and in 2020 began planting Providence Church in Calabasas. Melissa is a Gospel Coach with Coaching Leaders to Multiply (CMM) for women in ministry and women in vocational leadership positions. Tim and Melissa like reading, hiking, and creating beautiful things.
Deciding which service to worship with this Sunday? My encouragement to you every Sunday is to come to both morning and evening! God's people need more than an hour together in worship and fellowship. In evening worship, we enjoy a quieter time of reflection and contemplation of God that prepares our hearts for the six days ahead. And, following the sermon, there's "questions to the minister and answers."
Whether morning, evening, or both... I can't wait to see you Sunday!
